North Coast Contract Furniture

Warranty Coverage

North Coast Contract Furniture (“North Coast”) warrants its furniture products to the original purchaser only. This warranty is non-transferable and becomes effective upon receipt of final payment.

Coverage applies to defects in materials and craftsmanship under standard residential or commercial use conditions. Eligible products include, but are not limited to:

  • Conference and dining tables

  • Desks and workstations

  • Seating and benches

  • Cabinetry and shelving

  • Table bases and metal components

  • Stone, laminate, and veneer applications

  • Upholstered and specialty furniture products

If a qualifying defect is identified during the warranty period, North Coast may, at its discretion, repair, replace, or refinish the affected product or component.

This warranty represents the sole and exclusive remedy available to the purchaser.


WARRANTY TERMS

Standard Product Coverage

Unless otherwise specified in writing, North Coast products include a one (1) year limited warranty from the date of final payment.

Coverage includes:

  • Manufacturing defects

  • Structural failure under normal use

  • Assembly or joinery issues

  • Fabrication-related workmanship concerns


ELECTRICAL + MECHANICAL SYSTEMS

For products containing integrated electrical or mechanical features, the following coverage applies:

Electrical Components

Includes power modules, switches, motors, and control systems
Coverage: 1 year

Mechanical Hardware

Includes slides, adjustable systems, crank mechanisms, and moving components
Coverage: 1 year

Structural Metal Components

Includes steel frames, brackets, supports, and welded assemblies
Coverage: 1 year

Some third-party manufacturers may provide separate warranty coverage for their individual components.


SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES

North Coast will provide replacement parts or repair services for approved warranty claims during the applicable warranty period.

If inspection determines the issue resulted from misuse, improper handling, environmental conditions, unauthorized modifications, or customer-caused damage, service may be billed at:

  • $150/hour labor rate

  • Plus freight, travel, materials, and related expenses

Unless prohibited by law, the customer is responsible for:

  • Packaging and freight after the warranty period

  • On-site labor or installation costs

  • Product removal or reinstallation


EXCLUSIONS

This warranty does not apply to:

  • Floor models or showroom samples

  • Clearance, discounted, or as-is merchandise

  • Prototype or display pieces

  • Second-hand purchases

  • Rental or temporary-use furniture applications

Warranty coverage is also void if damage results from:

  • Neglect or abuse

  • Improper installation or storage

  • Unauthorized repairs or modifications

  • Freight or transportation damage

  • Exposure to excessive moisture, temperature, or humidity

  • Outdoor use unless approved in writing

  • Relocation after original installation


ALTERATIONS + FINISH MODIFICATIONS

Warranty coverage is void if products are modified without written approval from North Coast.

This includes:

  • Refinishing or recoating

  • Applying waxes, oils, sealers, or chemical treatments

  • Structural modifications or third-party repairs


NATURAL MATERIAL CHARACTERISTICS

Many North Coast products incorporate natural materials that inherently vary in appearance and behavior.

These characteristics are not considered defects and are excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Wood movement, checking, or expansion/contraction

  • Grain, knot, mineral streak, sapwood, or color variation

  • UV fading or natural aging

  • Leather markings or hide variation

  • Stone veining, fissures, or tonal shifts

  • Veneer grain inconsistency

  • Fabric wear, pilling, or dye transfer

Minor dimensional variation may occur due to the handcrafted nature of furniture production.

Customers are responsible for verifying all dimensions, access points, and fitment requirements before fabrication begins.


CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED MATERIALS

North Coast does not warranty:

  • COM (Customer’s Own Material) fabrics

  • Customer-supplied components or finishes

  • Third-party materials selected or provided by others

Review of these materials is limited solely to production feasibility.


LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

North Coast shall not be responsible for indirect or consequential damages including, but not limited to:

  • Loss of business or revenue

  • Downtime or loss of use

  • Damage to surrounding property

  • Incidental or special damages

Maximum liability shall not exceed the original purchase amount of the product in question.


WARRANTY CLAIM PROCESS

To initiate a warranty request, please provide:

  • Original order or invoice information

  • A written description of the issue

  • Supporting photographs or documentation

Any repaired or replaced item remains covered only through the balance of the original warranty period.


GOVERNING LAW

This warranty shall be interpreted under the laws of the State of Michigan.


PRODUCT CARE RECOMMENDATIONS

Recommended

  • Clean using a soft damp cloth followed by drying

  • Remove spills immediately

  • Use coasters, pads, and surface protectors

  • Maintain indoor humidity levels between 35%–55%

  • Minimize prolonged direct sunlight exposure

Avoid

  • Abrasive pads or harsh cleaners

  • Ammonia, bleach, vinegar, oils, waxes, or polishes

  • Standing water or moisture buildup

  • Placing hot or sharp items directly on finished surfaces

  • Applying aftermarket coatings or chemical sealers

This limited warranty provides specific legal rights. Certain states may provide additional rights or restrictions depending on local law.
